Every year millions of tons of agricultural wastes are generated which are either destroyed or burnt inefficiently in loose form causing air pollution.Handling and transportation of these materials is difficult due to low bulk density. These wastes can provide a renewable source of energy by converting into high density fuel briquettes without addition of any binder.
Agro waste, which is found in abundance in our country can be densified and made into briquettes that can subsequently be used as a cheap replacement for fossil fuels such as coal, gas, oil. New Life Engineering Company is the first manufacturer of briquetting machine in this country and has since continuously given this industry many of its firsts.
Visionary proprietor Shri R. C. Choraria took the idea from a German briquetting press and then modified it to suit Indian field conditions. Since then many players have entered the industry and exploited its potential. Presently, there are 400 briquetting presses running in the country of which 250+ have been supplied by us. The briquettes can be used in boilers and furnaces in the cement, dyeing, tea industry. It can also be used in brick kilns or to generate power with a gasifier. Almost all types of agro waste can be briquetted. A variety of preprocessing equipment is available for different kinds of raw materials.
The indigenous Binder-less Briquetting technology was introduced in India in 1987. Earlier the plant was imported by M/s Solar Sciences Consultancy Private Limited, India from Switzerland and plant was set up in HP, India. But due to non-availability of suitable processed raw materials and limitation of the machine to work only on saw dust, the plant did not work properly. To increase the efficiency and production and to make the better high capacity machines along with preprocessing equipments like Dryers, Hammer Mills, Air Density Separators, Conveying and Conditioning systems Etc M/s Solar Sciences engaged M/s New Life Engineering Co., Calcutta and subsequently M/s Hi-Tech Agro Projects Pvt. Ltd., Faridabad.
